The Corryvreckan Whirlpool lies between the Isle of Scarba and Jura, two islands just off the West coast of Scotland. It is the third largest in the world, and in 2015, my brothers and I swam across it. Jura is where George Orwell lived whilst he wrote 1984, and he once got stuck and almost died trying to row across it. I am currently working on a series of drawings that will describe the experience of this swim and the landscape of the Corryvreckan Gulf.
